टाटा कंसल्टेंसी सर्विसेज (टीसीएस) का सफलतापूर्वक प्रतिनिधित्व करने के बाद एन चंद्रशेखरन (चंद्रा) आज मंगलवार को टाटा संस की कमान संभालेंगे। 54 वर्षीय चंद्रा में एक लीडर के तौर पर अनेक ऐसे गुण हैं जिनसे वह अनेक चुनौतियों का सामना कर सकते हैं। अब टाटा संस की कमान संभालने के बाद बॉम्बे हाउस में चंद्रा का पहला काम अपने उन सहयोगियों की नियुक्ति करना होगा जो आगे संस्था को चलाने में उनकी मदद करेंगे।

पूर्व में टाटा संस की कोर टीम में जेजे इरानी, आरके कृष्ण कुमार और इशात हुसैन जैसे उनके पक्के समर्थक रहे हैं। संभव है कि चंद्रा ग्रुप में से ही अधिकांश लोगों का चयन करें लेकिन इस अहम फैसले लेने वाली संस्था में कुछ बाहरी लोगों को भी रखा जा सकता है। ग्रुप के पूर्व चेयरमैन साइरस मिस्त्री की कमान में काम कर रही ग्रुप एक्जियुटिव काउंसिल (GEC) को भंग कर दिया गया है। पूरे ग्रुप के लिए भविष्य की पॉलिसी का निर्धारण करने के लिए चंद्रा को ग्लोबल ट्रेंड्स, लेगेसी इशू, कानूनी मामले, संरक्षणवाद और भारी कर्ज को ध्यान में रखना होगा। ऐसे में चंद्रा के द्वारा कुछ सख्त फैसले भी लिए जा सकते हैं।
पिछले ही हफ्ते, टाटा मोटर्स ने घरेलू मार्केट में बिजनस में घाटा और विदेशी मार्केट ने जगुआर लैंड रोवर की कम सेल के कारण पिछली तिमाही में प्रॉफिट में 96 पर्सेंट की गिरावट दर्ज की है। ऐसा भी माना जा रहा है कि घाटे में चल रही नैनो कार को बंद करने का निर्णय भी टाला नहीं जा सकता है। इसके अलावा, H1B वीसा पर की जा रही सख्ती और टीसीएस में यूएस बेस्ड ई-मेडिकल वेंडर के विषय में 940 मिलियन डॉलर का कानूनी मामला भी चिंता का विषय है।
टाटा मोटर्स और टीसीएस ने मिलकर ग्रुप के लिए 58 पर्सेंट राजस्व और 2016 के वित्तीय वर्ष में 89 पर्सेंट प्रॉफिट दिया है। चंद्रा के लिए सबसे बड़ा काम टीसीएस और टाटा मोटर्स पर निर्भरता घटाना और अन्य बिजनस से राजस्व बढ़ाना होगा। इसके लिए टाटा क्लिक और टाटा डिजिटल हेल्थ जैसे नए बिजनस पर अधिक जोर देने की जरूरत होगी।
टेलिकॉम सेक्टर में जापानी सहयोगी डोकोमो के साथ चल रहे 1.2 बिलियन डॉलर के कानूनी मामले में भी चंद्रा के प्रतिनिधित्व का टेस्ट होगा। ग्रुप के ऊपर 25 बिलियन डॉलर का कर्ज है जो एक और चिंता का विषय है। मार्केट में कैश उगाही, लोन का निपटारा और गैर-संक्षारक संपत्तियों को कब्जे में लेने में भी चंद्रा को अपनी क्षमताएं दिखानी होंगी। लम्बे दौर में मिस्त्री से हुई लड़ाई के बाद कंपनी की इमेज को एकबार फिर से बनाने की जिम्मेदारी भी चंद्रा के ऊपर ही होगी।
